It’s been a full year since the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) revived the old LSU tradition of Tiger Nights. Originally created in 2002, Tiger Nights creates an opportunity to highlight one game per sport each year. During each of these sporting events, SAAC encourages all student-athletes and staff to join the fans in the stands and cheer on their fellow tigers.Tiger Night Tailgates is a new initiative created by SAAC to enhances the Tiger Night experience. SAAC plans to host only two tailgates a semester.
Last month’s tailgate kick-off celebrated volleyball’s match against UCLA. This tailgate brought out 96 student-athletes and 54 staff and their families on August 25th.
Don’t miss out on the next Tiger Night Tailgate as we cheer on the soccer team against Florida on Friday, September 29th at 6:00pm.
The tailgate will begin at 5:00 p.m. and will take place on the soccer practice fields. If you enjoyed the food, games, and music at the last Tiger Night Tailgate, you won’t be disappointed. Come enjoy free refreshments—food, ice cream and drinks—play cornhole, card games and build community with fellow student-athletes and athletic staff. Tiger Night Tailgates are all about bringing student-athletes and staff together to support one another while having fun. Be sure to stick around after the tailgate to join us in cheering on LSU Soccer to victory. If you haven’t already, follow @lsutigerlife on Instagram for more updates on Tiger Life and SAAC events.
