September 2023: Most Value-Able Players

These team members have been nominated by their colleagues for demonstrating our core values in their work.

Ethan Crystal: Coordinator of Partnership Services- GROWTH

Ethan embraces nearly any opportunity given to him and does so in a way that can make your head spin. He clearly desires to get better at everything he does, and makes those around him better by creating a culture of teamwork which fits well with his new title. He does this with a sense of humility that is well beyond his years. From aiding the Operations Department in hosting championship events, to building relationships within SP's network of vendors, Ethan routinely shows a commitment to growth that we all benefit from. Rodney Glynn: Custodial 2 Supervisor- EXCELLENCE, INTEGRITY, AUTHENTICITY, PRESERVERANCE, RESPECT, EQUITY, GROWTH, & SERVICE

Rodney is one of the greatest role models I have ever had. He is calm, knows what he's doing, funny, accepting and a man of integrity. He gave me a chance when things were looking bad for me at LSU. He was a voice of reason and a wonderful person all around to just be around. When I finally got my chance to move to maintenance, he was as excited as I was, not because he wanted me gone but he wanted me to succeed. I'll never forget this. (nominated by: Anthony Courteau)

Rodney Glynn: Custodial 2 Supervisor- EXCELLENCE, SERVICE, & AUTHENTICITY

Mr. Rodney personifies the Core Values of Excellence, Authenticity and Service not only within his professional role but also in his personal interactions. Every encounter with Mr. Rodney is characterized by his genuine warmth, kindness, and compassion. He consistently demonstrates promptness in addressing the requirements of our building, ensuring that he follows through and checks in to confirm that all our needs are met. Together with his team, they consistently exceed expectations. (nominated by: Eddie St-Vil)

Zac Henderson: Partnership Services Coordinator- EXCELLENCE, GROWTH, & SERVICE

Zac started as an Athletics facilities student-worker, then jumped into working with travel on the 6th floor, then became a sales intern for LSUSP, and before he even graduated, we knew that we wanted to hire him in a full-time role, which we did in May. Despite just recently graduating, he has already became an integral part of our team. That is because he takes pride in his work and pride in LSU. LSU Athletics is undoubtedly better with Zac in its ranks. (nominated by Garrett Altier)

Ericka Lavender: Associate Director, Academic Center for Student-Athletes- PERSERVERANCE & SERVICE

Ericka has played a crucial role in getting the academic portion of Teamworks functioning. She has had to collaborate with IT staff at LSU, Teamworks, and Retain to troubleshoot everything from profile syncing to coding of classes. Her perseverance through many failed syncing attempts will pay dividends to all of our student-athletes and sport staffs as Teamworks can become a true hub of all day-to-day information.
