October 2022: Core Value Most Valuable Players!
Each month, our team members have the opportunity to nominate each other for the month’s Most VALUEable Player.
October’s core highlight value was integrity, which means we meet our commitments and take ownership when we cannot.
We are proud to share the nominees who epitomized integrity during October!
Johnny Derrick, Assistant AD - Director of Women’s Basketball Operations - Integrity is embodied in every single thing that Johnny does which has a large impact on our department when you consider the fact that he has a hand in almost every single aspect of our program. If Johnny is involved, you know that the right thing will be done, people will be treated with respect and he will go above and beyond to deliver a first class result. (nominated by Kaylin Rice)
Quinlan Duhon, Director of Softball Operations - Quinlan is one person I know will ALWAYS be there to help me, give me great ideas, and share knowledge without hesitation. She goes out of her way to make everyone feel welcomed. She has been a leader in our Director of Operations group, sharing information, helpful hints, encouraging words. (nominated by Katie O’Brien)
Bill Franques, Senior Associate Communications Director- If you ask Bill Franques to do something, you can consider it already done. He is the epitome of professionalism, and he embraces every role asked of him. For all the work he puts in, he never expects credit. He is a credit to our media but also to our entire athletics staff. (nominated by Cody Worsham)
Sheldon Lee, Assistant Director of Post-Production - Sheldon doesn't know any other level but going above and beyond in his day-to-day work responsibilities and interactions with others. He takes pride in every piece of content he produces and regularly takes time out of his day to help others. Sheldon has consistently taken on additional job responsibilities each year that contribute to the growth of creative video at LSU, which shows his commitment to the entire Athletics Department. We couldn't run Creative Content the way we do without Sheldon (nominated by Emily Dixon)
Kent Lowe, Senior Associate Communications Directors - Kent Lowe is a legend in the sports information community. His dedication, humility, and willingness to go the extra mile for anyone has earned him a reputation across the country as one of the very best in the business. Personally, he was the first SID to work with me as a young member of the media, so I know from experience that he treats first-time reporters with the same respect and professionalism as he does veterans of the industry.
