October 2022: Core Value Most Valuable Players!
Each month, our team members have the opportunity to nominate each other for the month’s Most VALUEable Player.
October’s core highlight value was integrity, which means we meet our commitments and take ownership when we cannot.
We are proud to share the nominees who epitomized integrity during October!
Wendy Nall, Associate AD / Human Resources - When I think of integrity, I think of being reliable and Wendy is one of the most reliable people I have ever worked with! She helps us accomplish want we want to accomplish while navigating campus HRM rules and our Athletics desires. I never have to follow up with her on anything, if she is asked to do something once, it is as good as done and I appreciate that about her. (nominated by Andrea Tepe)
Bryan Paar, Director of Athletic Operations - Bryan goes above and beyond to help everyone in our department and execute many events to a first class standard. When you need something you can rely on Bryan and his commitment to integrity shows every day with any task small or large! (nominated by Leighann Westfall)
Alex Sjobakken, Assistant Director of Marketing - When an incident outside of her control emerged last month, Alex was upfront with me first about the situation, and let me know she was working on solutions. When that solution did not work out, Alex communicated that to everyone necessary and worked on steps to make sure things worked out better the next time. Alex displayed integrity by taking ownership, communicating effectively, and identifying solutions. (nominated by Keonte’ Herrara)
Ross Viltz, Executive Director – Premium Seating - Ross embodies integrity each and every day. His work is often unseen, but the positive impact is obvious throughout our premium seating staff, Tiger Athletic Foundation, and the entire athletics department community. His commitment and ownership to the HELP! program has created a better sense of unity and deeper focus on our core values. Ross sets a good example for everyone as he is consistent in messaging, follows through, and acts in the best interest of the athletics department. (nominated by Jamie Hall)
Sherman Wilson, Recruiting Specialist - Sherman embodies integrity because he consistently stands by his core values. Sherman treats every task as if it’s the most important thing on the planet. His commitment to the program ranges from getting recruits on campus, developing and sustaining layered relationships with current athletes, and also coordinating team travel responsibilities. Calling Sherman a recruiting specialist greatly reduced the full scope of his unwavering and undivided dedication to this program and university. (nominated by Gordon Thomas)
