January 2023: Core Value Most Valuable Players!

Each month, our team members have the opportunity to nominate each other for the month’s Most VALUEable Player. January’s core value highlight was respect, which means we treat people, property, and processes with utmost consideration. We are proud to share the nominees who gave respect during January!

Hannah Ericksen: Creative Content Producer. Hannah not only treats all people, property and processes with utmost consideration, but she goes above and beyond showing respect through her daily interactions with others, through the thoughtful content she creates and through her positive attitude. Hannah is always one of the first people in our department willing to help others when asked and also seeks out challenging projects to continue advancing her craft, which makes our whole team better. We are so lucky to have her at LSU!! (nominated by Emily Dixon)

Reggie Gibbs: Painter Master. Reggie was driving a Gator and I was behind him at the light on Skip Bertman Drive and Nicholson. The light is slow and while we were sitting there, he unbuckled his seatbelt and got out of the vehicle to pick up a piece of trash on the ground. I appreciated his demonstration of respect for our campus, especially since he didn’t realize anyone saw that act of service! (nominated by Andrea Tepe)

Mark Lee: Assistant AD / Operations & Facility Services. A lot of people do not know, but when the janitorial staff was short on workers, Mark Lee would come in the mornings at 3 am and help clean buildings.  It was not in his job description but he went above and beyond to help those people know that they had support from above and they were trying to come up with a solution.  But in the mean time, he was lending a helping hand so they would not have to work harder.  (nominated by Matthew Montgomery).

Mark Lee: Assistant AD / Operations & Facility Services. There is a book of "Markism's" but two of the main ones he always preaches is "Be Methodical"- make a process and follow it. "When you borrow something, return it better than you found it" or "You are only as good as your tools you have.- Take care of your stuff and other people's property and ensure you return it better than it was given to you.
