March 2023: Core Value Most Valuable Players!
Each month, our team members have the opportunity to nominate each other for the month’s Most VALUEable Player. March’s core value highlight was growth, which means we strive to be better today than yesterday. We are proud to share the nominees who fostered growth during March!
Gus Stark: Photography Coordinator- Football. Since June 2022, Gus has grown both LSU Football recruiting and external efforts. He has created a role for himself within football and shown value for our student-athletes, coaches, and program through photography. Gus' quality and quantity of photos, along with efforts to push himself and others in the creative and football staff, has elevated the program to a new level. He has grown throughout this daunting process of establishing a new position and shown the value of his work for LSU. (submitted anonymously)
Andrea Tepe: Chief of Staff. She won’t accept it, but there is not likely another single member of the department that has done more to continue to keep the Core Values of the LSU Athletic Department at the forefront of staffs mind. From an Ops. staff role, to Chief of Staff, to pursuing her PhD, to being a Sport Administrator, Andrea consistently works to foster an environment of growth not only within herself, but for the good of the department on the whole. Kaylen Thornton: Athletics Operations Manager. In Kaylen’s first five years at LSU she has faced adversities both personally and professionally in which she has risen up to each challenge, learning and growing with each step. But, most importantly, she has also helped others grow and adapt including myself as well as our students and other professional staff members. Kaylen is always looking for ways to grow in this industry both for herself and LSU. It has been truly inspiring and I look forward to seeing what she does next! (nominated by Julie Cribbs)
Cody Worsham: Associate AD/Chief Brand Officer. In addition to his role in athletics, which has grown with the creation of South Stadium Productions, Cody taught a class last fall and is currently serving as the Interim VP for Communications for LSU. He does not back down from a challenge! Cody has a passion for telling stories and works hard to find ways to foster growth for others through that passion. Watching Cody’s growth as a leader as well as his willingness to serve others inspires me to be better today than yesterday! (nominated by Andrea Tepe)
