That is why The Lighthouse Program is hosting a silent march, entitled The “BELIEVE” March (walk) for survivors of sexual assault, Tuesday, March 25th (4:00 – 5:30 PM).
This event will help to kick off Sexual Assault Awareness Month in April. The “Believe” March will provide an opportunity for survivors, advocates, family, friends, and supporters of survivors (and victims) to come together in a safe and “confidential” way (no one reveals which one they are) and experience the presence of true awareness via a silent march. Most importantly, to send the message to survivors, “‘I believe you.’ I believe this happened to you, and it is not your fault.” The silent walk will cultivate mindfulness and evoke serious contemplation of survivor and victim experience.
