Nobody’s immune to the pain that comes with a death by suicide. This past April, the Tabor family was having to live through the unthinkable. Their son Owen, a local high school football player, a brother, and a good friend to so many, died by suicide. The Advocate met with the Tabor family in August as they embarked on a mission, one they never thought they’d have to champion.
Owen, a devoted high school student-athlete, found love in all things athletic. A devoted supporter of LSU, Owen even enjoyed working concessions at LSU baseball games! As part of the healing process, the Tabor’s put their pain to purpose by creating a foundation to help make an impact on suicide awareness and prevention.
Hosted by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Team Rain Will Bring Flowers is trying to break the team participation record! Are you willing to walk for Owen?
LSU’s own Cade Beloso is helping the Rain Will Bring Flowers Foundation make a difference! Will you?
