A Matter of Life or Death
With concerns growing regarding the recent identification of the UK variant in Louisiana and across the country, the importance of protecting ourselves by following the COVID-19 safety protocols will be imperative. The recent research done on this particular variant shows strong evidence that it is considerably more transmissible and may in fact be more lethal. While COVID-19 appears to be highly infectious, it’s clear that the marginalized communities across the country and in Louisiana are being hit hardest. Vaccines are slowly becoming available but are still very limited in number as well as limited to primarily those above the age of 55 with co-morbid conditions. For many, the vaccine will be the difference between life returning to normal or maybe even the difference between life and death. But what happens when trusting the science part of the concern.
